5th-Grade celebrates Mesoamerica Day

Last week, our fifth graders at the Grammar Campus had a blast celebrating Mesoamerica Day as part of their CKLA and CKHG Unit 2 studies! Students in Mrs. Church’s and Mrs. McBride’s classes transformed into history detectives during a CSI-style investigation as they explored the amazing cultures of the Maya, Aztec, and Inca.
The celebration didn’t stop there. Students enjoyed tortillas with salsa and queso, learned about cacao beans and the origins of chocolate, and even got to sip rich Mexican hot chocolate accompanied by concha bread. It was the perfect mix of learning, exploring, and of course… snacking!
