Welcome Message from Mrs. Newton

Good afternoon,

I am honored to serve as the Principal of the Grammar School at TJCA. I believe that administration, faculty, parents, and students form a cohesive and successful team, each with unique roles and responsibilities. When we all contribute effectively, we foster an environment where learning thrives, leading to students' success both academically and socially.

My administrative experience includes two years as an Assistant Principal at Spindale Elementary, one year as Middle School Assistant Principal at Lake Lure Classical Academy, and four years as an Assistant Principal in the Lexington-Richland School District 5. I have also taught at-risk students in grades K-2 for eight years and fifth grade for three years in Lexington School District Two in South Carolina.

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Judson College in Marion, Alabama. Additionally, I have a Master's Degree in Special Education and Educational Leadership from the University of South Carolina and a Master's in Divergent Learning from Columbia College. My licensure areas include K-12 Administration, K-12 Exceptional Children, and Early Childhood and Elementary Education.

My husband and I have four children who will also be joining the TJCA family: Lee is in 5th grade, Hayes is in 4th grade, Ford is in 3rd grade, and Ruthie is in 2nd grade. We also have a Boxer named Olive.

We are excited to join a school community that values the timeless principles of classical education and ensures a well-rounded and rigorous academic experience for all students.

Sincerely,

Kristilee Newton

Grammar School Principal
