Faith Faz, the school counselor at Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy's grammar campus, applied for and received a $3,900 grant from the RHI Legacy Foundation. This grant will be used to help purchase food items for the grammar school's backpack program. Through the backpack program, food is sent home with students to help ensure they have enough food for the weekend and over long breaks. In the past, the backpack program was funded mostly through donations from TJ families and staff. Mrs. Faz said, "The generosity of the RHI Legacy Foundation will allow us to carry out the program without solely relying on donations. With the current economic hardships families are experiencing, this grant will allow us to reach even more families than before."
